A continual mosaic of healthy coastal wildbelt habitats along our two coasts all influenced by the sea, salt and natural processes. IntertidalThe area of the shore that is covered by water at high tide and exposed to air at low tide. More habitats are rich in invertebrates providing food for huge flocks of wintering birds. Mudflats, seagrass and oyster beds have been restored. Rare insects, plants, lichens and mosses thrive on Devon’s dune systems and sunny cliff top grasslands. Seabirds nest undisturbed by people on Devon’s cliffs.
